| The Medical College of Virginia consists of a six building campus consisting of acute care hospital facilities, clinics, and associated support spaces. Old malfunctioning chilled water plants were becoming a serious problem for them. Facility Dynamics, working with Sodexho Asset Management conceived and designed a unique distributed "variably coupled" campus loop that allows all facilities plants to serve any other facility. By replacing four chillers that were beyond their useful life with larger ones in two of the plants, and interconnecting all the plants with this unique concept, the project is both dramatically enhancing reliability by several orders of magnitude and saving approximately $300,000 per year in energy costs (we know because PACRAT is being used for a detailed Monitoring and Verification program). This allowed financing on a performance basis. |

| Facility Dynamics was asked to study a large animal research laboratory and vivarium that was not maintaining required conditions for AAALAC. We studied the system and found set up,
control and design problems. We provided the remedial design to fix the systems. The project included control modifications, zone humidification, heating equipment upgrades and rebalancing. |
