Project Description:
Facility Dynamics Engineering was retained by Cornell University to provide full commissioning services for the new 260,000 sf Life Sciences Technology Building. The facility includes Physical, Biological, Engineering and Computer Science departments and houses teaching and research labs, lecture halls, administrative offices, conference rooms, a distant learning center, a vivarium, and plant controlled environmental facilities. The building was designed and constructed within the USGBCs’ Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) criteria, and it received a LEED Silver certification by the USGBC. LEED features include: water use reduction, site sustainability, energy efficiency and environmental friendly materials.
