Project Description:

Facility Dynamics Engineering performed design phase commissioning services including peer review and preparation of a commissioning plan and specifications to the new Special Collections Library at the University of Virginia. This 58,000 sf, $22 million project houses special collections including thousands of rare books, maps, photos, and many of Thomas Jefferson’s papers and maps dating back before the Lewis and Clark expedition. The facility consists of two stories above grade and two stories below grade with administrative, unloading, and storage rooms. All areas have temperature and humidity control with desiccant dehumidification used for critical areas
